Things that can affect your skin as an ADULT(or any age really)!

STRESS

We are all becoming more and more aware of how STRESS can impact our bodies and mind but did you know  it can affect our skin too! I know annoying right because stress is part of everyone's life to some extent! So how do you ask, stress can cause the production of "Corticotropin" - a hormone that can cause ACNE lesions to develop  AND if your stress levels aren't at a manageable level your body can't heal itself as quickly! Stress Acne: Why It Happens and What to Do (psychcentral.com)

So what can we do about it?? Self-care, yes I said it and I will say it again SELF-CARE, it is the key to everything! Now everyone's self-care looks differently you might enjoy running, meditation or just going to get a cuppa with your bestie. What ever it is do it, you are not selfish your skin needs it!

Time of the MONTH

We all LOVE the time of the month . . . . NOT. But on a serious note why does your menstrual cycle play around with your skin? So around this time of the month extra oil can be produced that can feed already existing ACNE or block up your pores and create new ACNE. See here for a better description Period Skin 101: How (and Why) Your Skin Freaks Out | Allure

How can you help this you say? The best advice I can give you is see your Dermatologist and ask what they recommend for you specifically.

Your daily WATER intake

WATER WATER WATER! Yes girl get those 8 glasses of water into you every day. Not only is this good for your over all health but your general skin health. Drinking enough water helps remove toxins from your body, this includes toxin from your SKIN! Hydrating makes your skin brighter, plumper and yup you got it younger!  You glow differently when you are hydrated! The Role Water Plays in Skin Health - Forefront Dermatology

Put a water bottle y your desk or somewhere is your house you regularly pass so it becomes a habit to just sip away all day!

I just got myself a Frank Green, now I have bought so many drink bottes to help me drink more water (every girl has HAHA) but this one has been the best so far! You can order one through this link, nope this one I won't make money on because it is far cheaper to buy direct from Frank Green Reusable Bottles – frank green Australia

The SUN

Nothing beats a beautiful SUMMERS DAY! In my opinion anyways! But what does the SUN do to your skin? Well it can age your skin, reduce elasticity and cause skin cancers if you don't do the right things Sun-Damaged Skin - Harvard Health I never really knew until I reached my 30's just how important sunscreen really is. I know there aren't an awful lot of products that you can use with your makeup that don't feel too heavy but I have a product here my dermatologist recommended to me because the product they sell was too thick on my skin AND I LOVE it!  I don't care if you don't use this but please use something! (This link is an affiliate link so I will make some commission on it but you can also purchase this product from Chemist Warehouse) https://amzn.to/3xBir4a Also ladies and gents please get your skin check regularly, Melanoma is real and can be very bad for you! I recently had mine checked through MOLE MAP (this is in Aus) click this link to find the closest clinic to you and book today if you have never had one! Super easy and stress free (don't worry I don't make anything from this one) https://www.molemap.net.au/
